Colts RB Vick Ballard out for season after tearing ACL in knee

Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard will miss the remainder of the 2013 season after being placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL in his knee suffered in practice this week, the team announced.

Ballard was listed as limited in practice this week with the injury.

He had 13 carries for 63 yards in the season opening victory against the Oakland Raiders.  The team had hoped Ballard would to split the workload with new acquistion Ahmad Bradshaw.
