INDIANAPOLIS -- Johnny Manziel is one of several quarterbacks not participating in passing drills at this weekend's NFL combine, with Derek Carr and Teddy Bridgewater among those sitting out. But he put on display one of his more exciting attributes early Sunday morning, sprinting his way to a 4.68 in the 40-yard dash, the best time among the QBs to take the field early. (Unofficially, his time had been listed at a 4.55)

Three players in the second QB group topped Manziel's time: Connor Shaw, Stephen Morris and Logan Thomas, who put up a QB-best 4.61.

Bridgewater told reporters on Saturday that he would run the 40, though he confirmed he was waiting for his Pro Day to throw. However, he changed his mind sometime in the next 24 hours. The Louisville QB stood and watched while the rest of the quarterbacks took to the Lucas Oil Stadium turf.

Carr landed just behind Manziel at a very respectable 4.69, with Central Florida's Blake Bortles clocking in at 4.93. Of the projected top four quarterbacks in this class (Bridgewater, Carr, Manziel and Bortles), only Bortles was competed in all drills Sunday.
