Game Facts

Hawaii facts

Hawaii is opening the season with back-to-back Pac-12 opponents for the third time in four seasons.

Running back Joey Iosefa rushed for 143 yards in last week’s loss to Washington and is averaging 145.8 yards in his last five games.

The Warriors’ last win over the Beavers came in the 1999 Oahu Bowl in Honolulu.

Last week, Hawaii gave up the fewest points (17) and total yards (336) it has surrendered since holding South Alabama to seven points and 166 yards in the final game of the 2012 season.

The Warriors did not commit a turnover against Washington, their first turnover-free game since Nov. 12, 2012.

Oregon State facts

The Beavers have three coaches -- defensive coordinator Mark Banker, offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh and wide receivers coach Brent Brennan -- who coached at Hawaii.

Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion was 31-for-43 for 372 yards and four touchdowns in last season’s win over the Warriors.

Since 2011, the Beavers’ defense has forced 88 turnovers, the sixth-most in the nation. They trail Houston (109), Oklahoma State (101), Oregon (98), Arizona State (95) and Boise State (92).

Oregon State started nine seniors on defense against Portland State, the most since they began tracking starters in 1976.

Redshirt freshman Garrett Owens is the first kicker in Beavers history to make five field goals in his first career game. His seven attempts against Portland State set a school record.
