Albert Chen is a staff writer at Sports Illustrated. He has covered baseball, college football, and the NFL for the magazine and has written over a dozen cover stories for SI, including his 2008 story on Josh Hamilton's comeback. His favorite stories for the magazine include his 2009 story on Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Harvey Haddix and a 2012 piece on Philip Humber's perfect game. He was born in Nebraska — he was a rabid Cornhuskers fan in the Tom Osborne era — and also grew up in Columbia, Maryland, where he was captain of his high school tennis team. A graduate of Yale University, where he was the Executive Editor for the Yale Herald, he and his wife Andrea Woo, an editor at Sports Illustrated Kids, live in Manhattan.
