John Garrity enjoyed four decades as one of Sports Illustrated’s most prolific and valued writers, including 28 years on the golf beat. He covered more than 100 majors for SI, penned profiles of the game’s biggest stars and authored numerous books, including Ancestral Links: A Golf Obsession Spanning Generations and Tiger 2.0: The Best of John Garrity. He lives in Kansas City, Mo., and plays his overseas golf at Scotland’s Askernish Golf Club and Ireland’s Carne Golf Links.
