UConn's Enosch Wolf apologizes after court appearance

VERNON, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut center Enosch Wolf appeared in court Wednesday on charges of third-degree burglary, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

University police arrested Wolf just before 6 a.m. on Monday morning after what they called a domestic dispute.

"I'm sorry for what I put the university through, what I put the coaches through, the people of the university, my teammates and my family," Wolf said after his brief court appearance.

Wolf had refused to leave an on-campus apartment and got into a physical altercation with the woman who lives there, according to the arrest report.

He "grabbed the hair of the victim and pushed her head," according to the report. "Wolf also knocked the glasses off of the victim's face with his hand. Wolf continued to remain in the apartment and was subsequently arrested by police."

Judge Edward Mullarkey issued a partial protective order against Wolf, which allows him to have limited contact with the victim.

Coach Kevin Ollie has said Wolf, 22, will be under suspension indefinitely, "until the legal and university process is finalized."

Wolf is not due back in court until March 20, after the basketball season is over. His attorney, Robert Britt, said Wolf continues to live on campus and take classes at the university.

Wolf, who is from Goettingen, Germany, had been a key contributor off the bench for the Huskies, following the transfer of Alex Oriakhi to Missouri in the offseason. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 22 games, starting three of them.

UConn (16-6, 6-4 Big East) hosts No. 6 Syracuse on Wednesday.
