Floyd Mayweather spoke to the media on Saturday and subtly hinted that he could fight Conor McGregor in an upcoming match.

Ever since British publication The Sunreported that the two would fight in an upcoming match, and McGregor teased the potential fight with a poster, rumors have been flying.

So, on Saturday, Mayweather, who is retired, was questioned about all of the chatter. He didn’t do anything to kill it, but he really didn’t do too much to confirm it, either.

He gave an incredibly vague response to the “rumors” that have been floating, and ended it by calling the fight “possible.”

The rumors that y’all been hearing is the rumors that I started. It may not be a rumor. It may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter.

If you can figure out what that means, then you’ve probably got a good read on whether or not this fight will take place. It’s still incredibly unclear if any real discussions have taken place, though Mayweather did say a “name was thrown at him.” Again, that doesn’t tell us that any talks of great substance have taken place.

Mayweather-McGregor could happen. It also could not. Stay tuned.
