Lennox Lewis, Will Smith to be pallbearers at Muhammad Ali funeral

Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis and actor Will Smith will serve as pallbearers at Muhammad Ali’s funeral on Friday, according to ESPN.

Smith was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor after playing Ali in the 2001 film Ali. Lewis shares the distinction of being an Olympic gold medalist and former heavyweight champion with Ali.

They will be accompanied by Ali’s cousin John Grady, his nephew Ibn Ali, his former brother-in-law Komawi Ali, his cousin Jan Wadell, his friend John Ramsey and Jerry Ellis, the brother of his former sparring partner Jimmy Ellis.

Ali passed away on Saturday at the age of 74 from septic shock after being hospitalized with a respiratory condition. 

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. ET on Friday in Louisville, with 15,000 tickets available to the public.
