KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee guard J.P. Prince has had arthroscopic reconstructive surgery on his left shoulder.

Athletic officials said Monday that Prince will be held out of contact drills for three to four months but is expected to make a full recovery by the start of practice in October.

The Memphis native averaged 8 points and 3.2 rebounds this past season. He was voted the Southeastern Conference's Sixth Man of the Year by league coaches.
