Former Sacramento Kings coach Reggie Theus will interview for the USC men's basketball job, the Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday.

Theus was fired from the Kings in December, 24 games into his second season. His college coaching career included two seasons as an assistant at Louisville and two seasons as the head coach of New Mexico State. In his second season with the Aggies, he went 25-9, leading the team to the first round of the NCAA tournament.

He has also worked as an actor, appearing on television sporadically, including a role as a basketball coach in the 1990s television show Hang Time.

According to numerous reports, he is expected to take the job if offered. He will replace Tim Floyd, who resigned amid allegations he paid cash for former player O.J. Mayo.
