Yale beats VMI 75-62 in CIT semifinals

LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) Javier Duren scored 19 points and Yale beat VMI 75-62 on Monday night to advance to the championship game of the CollegInsiders.com tournament.

Justin Sears had 15 points for the Bulldogs (19-13) before leaving with a right hand injury midway through the second half. Brandon Sherrod scored 13 as Yale led by as many as 16 in the second half.

The Keydets closed to 64-58 with 4:35 remaining, but Yale responded with an 11-4 run.

The loss ended the first postseason appearance for VMI (22-13) since the 1976-77 season.

Rodney Glasgow led VMI with 20 points in his final college game.

Yale outrebounded the Keydets 45-27.
