Boston College has picked up Southern Miss transfer Aaron Brown, reports Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Brown will be immediately eligible to play with the Eagles because of the graduate transfer rule. He was granted his release by Southern Miss last week.

Florida State lands four-star recruit

The wing spent his first two college seasons at Temple before transferring. He has steadily increased his scoring output each season and averaged 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds last season with Southern Miss. Brown has shot 38 percent from behind the three-point line in his career.

Boston College went 8-24 in 2013-14, finishing in 14th place in the ACC. Following the season, Steve Donahue was fired as head coach and replaced by Jim Christian.
