Levan Alston, a shooting guard from Haverton, Pa., announced at a news conference Tuesday that he has verbally committed to Temple

The 6-foot-3, 165-pound Alston, who also drew scholarship offers from Georgetown, Cincinnati and Notre Dame, among other programs, is the No. 104 player in the class of 2015, according to rankings on the recruiting website Rivals.com.

Prior to settling on Temple, Alston had reportedly narrowed his choices to the Owls, Penn State and VCU.

Alston joins Trey Lowe, a three-star small forward from Ewing, N.J., as the second player in the class of 2015 to commit to Temple.

HAMILTON: Does Coach K get recruiting edge from Team USA? Of course. So what?

“I wanted to be close to home, so everybody could come support me and watch see me play,” Alston said, according to City of Basketball Love. “I’m from North Philly, so it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Temple finished 9-22 last season and posted a 4-14 record in American Athletic Conference play.
