Zach Hodskins, a walk-on freshman for the University of Florida who was born without the lower half of his left arm, played in the team's opening night win against William & Mary on Friday.
“I've always dreamed of being here, and tonight I feel like I fulfilled that dream and now I'm just gonna take the next step forward. It didn't really matter [if I played tonight or not], I was hoping I would, I'm glad I did but I'm glad that my teammates played well. ... I love it, I mean as long as they treat me like a normal human being and a player and their friend I'll be just fine."
The Gators offered Hodskins a walk-on spot in October 2013 after videos of him playing went viral.
Florida is 1-0 on the season. The team's next game is against Miami on Monday.
