Indiana coach Tom Crean reportedly said "you suck" to one of the referees after his team's 81-76 loss to the Wichita State Shockers in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday.

According to several reports, after the final buzzer in the game between the No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers and No. 7 Shockers, Crean approached referee Kipp Kissinger and said "you suck."

Crean was reportedly frustrated by the discrepancy in calls granted to his team. Indiana was called for nine more fouls than Wichita State, and the Shockers took 34 foul shots to the Hoosiers' 20.

Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star reported that Crean voiced his frustration to Kissinger before shaking hands with the Wichita State players and coaches. "When this game was over Crean didn’t walk immediately toward the Shockers’ sideline," Doyel wrote. "He walked toward one referee and told him, right in front of me, 'You suck.'"

Dirk Chatelain of Omaha.com also recorded the exchange.

Kissinger works mainly with the Big 12 and Missouri Valley conferences; Wichita State is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and was its regular season champion. According to Matt Norlander at CBSSports.com, Kissinger has been a college referee since 1997, and this season was ranked by BBState.com as 720th out of 817 officials in terms of fouls called.

Officiating crews that Kissinger have worked with this season called 33.6 fouls on average. In Friday's game, 43 fouls were called, with six of the last 10 going for Indiana.
