Four-star point guard Tony Carr has committed to play at Penn State, he announced on Monday.

Carr, who is 6'5", 185 pounds, is ranked No. 53 by Rivals and is the highest ranked recruit from Pennsylvania.

Carr fielded offers from 17 other schools, including four of Penn State's Big Ten rivals.

Nazeer Bostick, Carr's current teammate at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, is a three-star guard who has also committed to Penn State. Lamar Stevens, Pennsylvania's No. 2 recruit, is expected to be the next player to commit to Penn State. Stevens, Bostick and Carr are friends, and were rumored to be a “package deal,” according to Onwardstate.com.

Penn State finished the 2014–15 season with a 18–16 record, second-worst in its conference.
