Four-star center Abdul Ado committed to Mississippi State on Monday, he announced via Twitter.

The Chattanooga, Tenn., native, who is known as a defensive specialist, chose Ben Howland’s team over offers from Auburn, LSU, Penn State, Tennessee, Oregon and others.

Ado checks in at No. 80 in the Recruiting Services Consensus Index, a composite ranking that incorporates data from several sources. He joins Schnider Herard, Mario Kegler, Tyson Carter, Lamar Peters and Eli Wright in Mississippi State’s 2016 recruiting class.

The 6'11", 235-pound center averaged 9.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.9 blocks a season ago for Hamilton Heights High School.
