In a game that was tight from the opening tip, the Texas Longhorns held on to upset No. 3 North Carolina on a last-second shot by Javan Felix.

The score was tied at 80 with 40 seconds left when Texas’s Isaiah Taylor drove the lane, hoisted a floater off the front iron and put back his own miss for the two-point lead. On the ensuing possession, Brice Johnson caught a feed from Marcus Paige in the paint and hit a layup to tie it at 82.

Texas took the ball the other way looking for the go-ahead basket, and Taylor missed a three from the left wing that wound up in the hands of Felix, who pulled up from midrange on the right side and hit the jumper as time expired. After officials reviewed the play, the Longhorns’ upset was complete.

Neither team ever led by more than six points. The Longhorns got major contributions from their backcourt, as  Felix led the team with 25 points, Taylor had 18 and five assists and Eric Davis Jr. scored 16 off the bench,

Paige paced the Tar Heels with 20 points. Justin Jackson chipped in 15.  Johnson and Isaiah Hicks scored 14 apiece.
