NEW ORLEANS -- This is the sleepiest first-day scene I've witnessed in six years covering the NCAA tournament. An hour before tip of Notre Dame-Old Dominion, there was barely anyone outside the arena, and barely anyone inside the arena. It's possible that no one wakes up before noon here following St. Patrick's Day.

Things should pick up for the night session -- mostly because Kentucky fans outnumber every other fan in New Orleans by about five to one.

The loneliest will-call window in the city:

And Notre Dame warming up before 5-10 people:

I'll be back throughout the day. Enjoy the dance ...
