It's unclear what Alabama needs to do the rest of the way to get into serious at-large position, but losing at home to Georgia in the season finale definitely wasn't part of that recipe for success. Thanks to a late defensive stop and a 50-footer from Trevor Releford at the horn, the Crimson Tide avoid what likely would have made them auto-bid or bust heading into the SEC tournament. Now the Tide finish at 12-6 SEC, tied for second place, and will be the 4-seed in the SEC tournament. What that immediately implies is a possible semifinal against Florida, which is the type of game a bubble team wants at this time of the season. If they make the SEC final, with a win over the Gators in hand, perhaps it will be enough.
