Rodney Hood joined the Blue Devils after playing for Mississippi State in 2011-12.
Advancing prior updates that Duke's Rodney Hood was recovering nicely from a right Achilles' tendon injury suffered in late June at the World University Games tryouts, the News & Observer in Raleigh writes that Hood is now completely recovered.
"He's great," head coach Mike Krzyzewski told the paper on Thursday.
Hood, a Mississippi State transfer who sat out last season, is expected to be a major impact player on the wing for what should be an exciting and strong Blue Devils squad. Hood averaged 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds a game as a freshman for the Bulldogs. He and uber-recruit Jabari Parker give Krzyzewski a pair of 6-foot-8 wings that will be a very difficult athletic matchup for most teams. Duke likely will enter the season as the ACC favorite over Syracuse and North Carolina.
