You may remember Southern as the team that gave Gonzaga a fit in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in March, but the Jaguars reemerged as an internet sensation Monday night with their drubbing of one overmatched Champion Baptist College.

After setting a record for the biggest lead to start a game (44-0, breaking the previous record of 34-0), the Jaguars beat the Tigers 116-12.

Surprisingly, it was NOT the biggest blowout in the history of college basketball. Tim Burke noted that that record still stays with Long Island:

The internet offers little information about Champion Baptist College. They have a Twitter account, which they recently used to try and recruit some new basketball talent:

Since the college's own website (championbaptist.com) doesn't load, the only other website that offers any information about the college is here. The Hot Springs, Arkansas ministry school was apparently founded in 2005 and has an enrollment of 205. No wonder they took to Twitter to seek out players.

The box score is something to behold. The Tigers finished 3-of-44 from the field (6.8 percent), 1-of-11 from three-point range (hey, they got one) and had NINE times as many turnovers (27) as they did field goals (three). Operating at a tremendous size disadvantage with only one player taller than 6-foot-4, Champion Baptist was out-rebounded, 71-21. They had a points-per-possession average of 0.16, and managed just one assist.

This isn't the first Division-I team Champion Baptist has played this season. The Tigers battled Southeastern Louisiana, Mississippi Valley State, and New Orleans earlier this season and lost each game by at least 50 points.
