Opposing teams really should consider a different strategy for defending Billy Baron late in games.

Earlier this season, the Canisius guard hit a three as time expired to beat Elon.

On Friday night against Rider, after Baron converted an and-1 in the waning seconds of overtime to force a second extra period, the preseason All-MAAC first team selection stuck a game-winning three at the buzzer. The game-winner capped an excellent performance for Baron, who scored a career-high 38 points, handed off seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds in the win. Canisius is now 10-6 and 4-1 in MAAC play.
