The buzzer-beaters have arrived. On Thursday afternoon, Seton Hall took down third-ranked Villanova at the Big East tournament on a jump shot by sophomore guard Sterling Gibbs that swished through the net as the horn sounded, securing one of the first major upset in a major conference tournament this year. The Pirates had taken the lead at 62-61 on a three-pointer by John Sina with just 21 seconds remaining only to have the Wildcats go back ahead by a point on a short jumper by Darrun Hilliard. After calling a timeout with 3.7 seconds left, the Pirates inbounded the ball to Gibbs, who drove to the top of the key and then hit an amazing, step-back jump shot to seal the 64-63 win for Seton Hall.

It's the second one-point victory in less than 24 hours for the Pirates, who move on to the semifinals in their unlikely quest to make the NCAA tournament. Seton Hall is just 17-16 overall and will need to win the Big East tournament to reach the NCAAs.

We'll have more later on this game's implications for Villanova's hopes of being a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. For now, just embrace the madness.
