On one end of the floor, Aaron Craft lay on the floor in defeat. On the other end, Dayton players piled on top of each other in victory. In the first game of the first full day of the 2014 NCAA tournament, the eleventh-seeded Flyers upset No. 6 seed Ohio State 60-59 in a second round game in the South region.

The game featured an incredible, back-and-forth final minute of play. With the score tied at 55, Craft, the Buckeyes' senior point guard, found Sam Thompson and dished to him for a short jump shot and a 57-55 lead. On the other end of the court, Ohio State's Shannon Scott fouled Dayton’s Dyshawn Pierre on a three-point attempt. Pierre, a 65.8 percent shooter from the line this season, hit all three free throws, giving the Flyers a one-point lead.

After a timeout, the Buckeyes put the ball in the hands of their leader, Craft. He ducked into the lane and went under-over on a double team to put the Buckeyes back on top with a layup, but there were still 17 seconds left on the clock. After a Dayton timeout with 10.5 seconds remaining, Vee Sanford drove right at Craft and hit an eight-foot bank shot. Craft got the ball back with 3.8 seconds to go and put up a contested shot, but it rattled out. It was yet another heartbreaking loss in the NCAA tournament for Ohio State. The Buckeyes' last six tourney losses have been by a total of 14 points.
