Watch: DeAndre Kane's game-winning layup and the bizzare ending of UNC-Iowa State

Although the referees took plenty of time to sort out the end of the game, they couldn't take away the electricity of this drive and layup from DeAndre Kane. With his Cyclones tied with North Carolina at 83-83 and six seconds left on the clock, Kane took control -- as he has for Iowa State all season.

After Kane's layup with 1.6 seconds remaining gave the Cyclones a two-point lead, North Carolina's Nate Britt rushed the ball up the floor. The Tar Heels tried to call a timeout after Britt crossed halfcourt but the officials ruled -- eventually -- that they didn't signal for it in time and the game ended.

The Cyclones advance to the Sweet 16 to face Connecticut, which knocked off East No. 2 seed Villanova on Saturday night.
