LSU freshman defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao suffered a serious arm injury after punching a glass window in the team weight room, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Lealaimatafao is a 6-foot, 300-pound four-star recruit from San Antonio, Texas. His status for the upcoming season is unknown.

According to the report, Lealaimatafao was upset about a disagreement with his girlfriend and punched the window between the weight room and indoor practice facility.

Lealaimatafao was taken to a hospital Monday to treat a deep cut to his arm, according to LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette.

Lealaimatafao decommitted from Texas in January after Texas coach Mack Brown resigned. He was expected to compete for playing time this season.

As a senior at Earl Warren High School, Lealaimatafao had 53 tackles, seven sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, earning U.S. Army All-American honors.
