Former Texas A&M defensive end Gavin Stansbury intends to transfer to Houston, according to a report from the Houston Chronicle.

The report says Stansbury, a senior, will be eligible to play immediately.

Texas A&M announced on July 21 that Stansbury was leaving the team for personal reasons.

Stansbury was charged with misdemeanor assault after being arrested in April.

The defensive end recorded 47 tackles and three sacks over 10 games with the Aggies last season.
