The Aggies on Saturday named Kenny Hill the starting quarterback for this season, according to the team's Instagram feed.

Hill will have big shoes to fill as the successor to Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel, now with the Cleveland Browns. Hill had competed with the highly recruited freshman, Kyle Allen, and head coach Kevin Sumlin was expected to name a starter by the end of the week.

Hill played in four games last season as Manziel's backup, completing 72.7 percent of his passes.
