South Carolina running back Mike Davis is questionable for the team's season opener against Texas A&M, head coach Steve Spurrier told the Sportstalk radio network.
According to The State, Davis has a rib injury that has kept him out of practice this week, though Davis told the newspaper Tuesday night that his injury wasn't serious. For his part, Davis is confident he will play against the Aggies.

If Davis can't play, Brandon Wilds, Shon Carson and Dave Williams would likely see carries for the Gamecocks.
Davis, a junior, rushed for 1,183 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and added 34 receptions for 352 yards. He was named to the Doak Walker Award watch list in July.
South Carolina and Texas A&M play on Aug. 28.
