North Texas will have a new helmet design this season, according to Uni Watch's Paul Lukas.

While keeping the same green color, the new helmet has the team's eagle logo covering most of the helmet's body instead of "North Texas" written out in white paint. It also has more of a chrome shine, compared to the old helmet's duller color.

It's unclear if the Mean Green will have new uniforms to go along with the new helmets.

North Texas went 9-4 last season and defeated UNLV in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The team opens the 2014 season Aug. 30 at Texas.
