Michigan State Spartans facts

Michigan State finished the 2013 season as the No. 3 team in the country in both major polls.

Star cornerback Darqueze Dennard was selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The team returns 15 starters from last season's Big Ten championship team, including quarterback Connor Cook and running back Jeremy Langford

Michigan State has won 11 games or more in three of the past four seasons, marking the first time in program history for that accomplishment.

Running back Jeremy Langford has accumulated 100 total yards or more in nine consecutive games, including eight straight Big Ten contests with 100 or more yards on the ground.

The Spartans enter the season opener as 33-point favorites. Michigan State is 8-2 against the spread in its last 10 games.
