Syracuse QB Terrel Hunt ejected for punching Villanova player

Syracuse quarterback Terrel Hunt was ejected from Friday's home game against Villanova after punching an opposing player in the facemask after he was tackled.

The senior ran for a six-yard gain with 3:24 to play before halftime and Wildcats linebacker Dillon Lucas lassoed him around the neck to help bring him down. Hunt then rolled over and hit Lucas with a left hook.

Hunt was 10-of-17 passing for 94 yards and had three carries for 25 yards. He was replaced by redshirt freshman Austin Wilson with Syracuse leading 10-7 over its FCS opponent.

Hunt had 17 touchdowns (10 passing, seven rushing) with eight interceptions last season for the Orange (7-6).
