Air Force has lost three straight Mountain West openers. However, they are 5-1 overall on the road in Mountain West openers.

In the win over Nicholls, sophomore Jacobi Owens's 233 yards set a school record for rushing yards by a player in his first-career start.

Wyoming Facts

Six of the last nine games in the Air Force-Wyoming series have been decided by one possession.

Wyoming won last year's meeting on the road, 56-23. In that game, quarterback Brett Smith led the Cowboys offense with 138 yards rushing and a touchdown.

The Cowboys collected just one penalty last week, which was for four yards.

Senior linebacker Mark Nzeocha was named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance versus Montana. He led the Cowboys with 12 tackles.

Last weekend's crowd of 25,243 was the best opening-day crowd for a Wyoming home game since 2007.
