Washington State vs. Nevada

On Friday night, the Washington State Cougars will travel to face the Nevada Wolf Pack in Reno. Last week, Washington State opened up its season with a loss to Big Ten newcomer Rutgers, while Nevada beat Southern Utah.

Nevada facts

This will be the third meeting between Washington State and Nevada. The Cougars won the first two games.

Senior QB Cody Fajardo is just 32 yards shy of becoming the third Wolf Pack quarterback to reach 10,000 yards in his career. 

In Week 1, only five FBS players had more receptions and yards than receiver Jericho Richardson. Richardson had 13 receptions for 177 yards against Southern Utah. 

Junior RB Don Jackson rushed for 100 yards for the first time in his Nevada career last week.

Seven Nevada players made their first career start in Week 1. 

Washington State facts

Washington State owns a 6-3 record against Mountain West Conference opponents. Coach Mike Leach holds a 7-2 record.

15 players made their collegiate debut for the Cougars in the loss to Rutgers.

Quarterback Connor Halliday had 532 yards on 40-of-56 passing with five touchdowns and one interception against Rutgers. 

Against the Scarlet Knights, Washington State finished with just six total yards rushing. 

Four receivers on the Washington State offense finished with more than 80 yards receiving. Vince Mayle led the way with 124 yards on 12 receptions and a TD.
