Wisconsin went up 2-0 on Western Illinois Saturday before either team's offense or defense took the field.

Leathernecks running back Kyle Hammonds attempted to field the opening kick in his own end zone, only to watch the ball bounce off his chest and in front of the goal line. Hammonds then picked the ball up off the turf, stepped back and took a knee in the end zone, resulting in a safety. 2-0 Wisconsin.

Not a great start for Western Illinois.
