STAPLES: Is the Big Ten already doomed after Week 2?

As of Monday morning, Russell was no longer listed on the Sooners' roster.

Russell, a senior, arrived at Oklahoma last season as a junior college transfer from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. He played in two games in 2013 but did not dress for Oklahoma's first two games this season.

The San Antonio native originally committed to Texas out of high school in 2011 but didn't qualify.

Oklahoma is 2-0 this season after defeating Tulsa 52-7 on Saturday.
