Texas State Bobcats vs. Illinois Fighting Illini

The Texas State Bobcats (1-1) hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to Champaign for a meeting with the Illinois Fighting Illini (2-1) on Saturday afternoon. Illinois lost last weekend to Washington.

Game Facts

Illinois has a 4-0 all-time record against current members of the Sun Belt Conference. This will mark the first meeting between the two schools.

The Fighting Illini's wins over Youngstown State and Western Kentucky both included fourth-quarter comebacks. Since 2001, the Illini have eight fourth-quarter comeback wins. 

Illinois quarterback Wes Lunt has completed 87.5 percent of his passes in the fourth quarter.

Illinois has not missed an extra point since 2009. The streak spans 64 games and 186 attempts.

This is Texas State's first road game of the season.

The Bobcats are in only their third year as a member of the FBS and their second as a member of the Sun Belt.

Texas State assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Mike Schultz previously served as the offensive coordinator at Illinois in 2009.

Bobcats head coach Dennis Franchione (204 wins) is one of just four active FBS coaches with more than 200 career victories.

Junior running back Robert Lowe was a named to the preseason Doak Walker Award watch list.
