Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Maryland Terrapins

The Ohio State Buckeyes (3-1) completed their non-conference slate with a 50-28 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats last weekend. On Saturday, Ohio State hits the road to begin its Big Ten schedule in a meeting with the Maryland Terrapins (4-1). 

Maryland is also coming off of a victory, as they defeated Indiana 37-15 on the road last weekend in their first-ever Big Ten conference game.

09/27: Ohio State 50, Cincinnati 28

The Buckeyes amassed 710 yards of total offense as they reached the 50 point mark. QB J.T. Barrett completed 26-of-36 pass attempts for 330 yards and four passing touchdowns and also rushed for 79 yards on 14 carries. Ohio State did not force a turnover defensively, but limited Cincinnati to just 70 yards rushing. 

09/13: Ohio State 66, Kent State 0

QB J.T. Barrett tied an Ohio State record with six passing touchdowns, while compiling 312 passing yards on only 30 pass attempts. RB Curtis Samuel gained 100 yards on 15 carries, including two touchdowns, and the Buckeyes outgained the Golden Flashes by a margin of 628-126.

09/06: Virginia Tech 35, Ohio State 21

The Buckeyes were behind by a 21-7 margin at halftime and were unable to complete a comeback in the second half. Ohio State committed three turnovers in the game and was just 4-for-17 in converting third downs. In addition, J.T. Barrett completed just nine of his 29 pass attempts.

08/30: Ohio State 34, Navy 17

The defeat of Navy was Ohio State's 25th consecutive victory during the regular season. No Buckeyes player attempted more than 12 rushes in the game, but as a team, Ohio State combined for 194 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while the defense also produced a touchdown on a 61-yard fumble return by Darron Lee


09/27: Maryland 37, Indiana 15

The Terrapins gained 484 yards of total offense and did not commit a turnover during their first victory as a member of the Big Ten. The quarterback duo of Caleb Rowe and C.J. Brown combined to convert 22 of their 33 pass attempts for 361 yards, and running back Brandon Ross averaged more than 10 yards per carry on the ground. 

09/20: Maryland 34, Syracuse 20

The Terps were outgained by 220 yards, but Maryland took advantage of two Syracuse turnovers in the victory. William Likely returned an interception 88 yards for a touchdown to give Maryland a 31-13 advantage, and QB C.J. Brown completed 16-of-26 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. 

09/13: West Virginia 40, Maryland 37

Maryland allowed the Mountaineers to accumulate 694 yards of total offense, including 511 passing yards from QB Clint Trickett. The Terps did gain 447 yards, highlighted by a 75-yard touchdown run from QB C.J. Brown, but Maryland failed to capitalize on a 4-1 advantage in the turnover margin. 

09/06: Maryland 24, South Florida 17

The Terrapins committed six turnovers, but the defense slowed USF's offense to only 257 total yards. C.J. Brown threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, and Wes Brown led the running game with 61 yards on 13 carries.

08/30: Maryland 52, James Madison 7

Maryland out-gained James Madison by a margin of 471-302 and forced former Georgia Tech QB Vad Lee into several mistakes, including three total team turnovers. The Terrapins were dominant on the ground, rushing for 285 yards, and they possessed the ball for nearly 34 of the 60 minutes.
