Florida will be without two starters for its bowl game against East Carolina, interim coach D.J. Durkin announced Wednesday.

Both wide receiver Andre Debose and defensive tackle Darious Cummings did not make the trip for the Birmingham Bowl.

"We had two guys not make the trip with us – Darious Cummings and Andre Debose," said Durkin. "Those will be two guys that won't be participating in the game. Darious Cummings was a violation of team rules and Andre, it was just kind of a decision he made and a mutual agreement that he would be moving on with his career."

Debose saw most of his action this season on special teams, returning 21 kicks for 519 yards and 23 punts for 323 yards. The senior finishes his Florida career with four kick return touchdowns and four receiving touchdowns.

Cummings, also a senior, had two sacks and 30 tackles this season.

The Gators (6-5) play East Carolina (8-4) on Jan. 3.
