On Saturday, Minnesota will look to rebound from an 0-1 start when it travels west to face Colorado State. Minnesota head coach Jerry Hill said his team made “too many mistakes” in the team's 23-17 season opener loss against TCU. Junior quarterback Mitch Leidner completed 19 of 35 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown. Hill noted the strength of the team's offense, which held the Horned Frogs to 23 points.

The Colorado State Rams are looking to pick up their second win of the season after they dominated in their season opener against Savannah State, beating the Tigers 65-13. Sophomore quarterback Nick Stevens made his first career start. He finished the game having completed 20 of 28 passes for 289 yards and five touchdowns.
