No. 3 TCU survives dramatic shootout vs. Texas Tech
Sunday September 27th, 2015

No. 3 TCU needed a miracle to defeat Texas Tech on Saturday in Lubbock.

The Horned Frogs trailed 52–48 with under 30 seconds to play and faced fourth and goal from the 4. Quarterback Trevone Boykin attempted to find Josh Doctson in the end zone but the throw was high. The ball bounced of Doctson’s hands and happened to land in the waiting arms of running back Aaron Green.

The catch and ensuing extra point gave TCU a 55–52 lead.

Texas Tech had a chance to pull off a miracle of its own when a TCU penalty on the Red Raiders’ final drive made for a more manageable Hail Mary attempt.

On the final play of the game, Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes escaped a couple of pass rushers and was able to complete a pass with a man hanging onto his ankles. The Red Raiders advanced the ball downfield with a few laterals but were unable to reach the endzone.

TCU improved to 4–0 on the season, while Texas Tech dropped to 3–1.
