Wake Forest defeated Boston College 3–0 Saturday, in arguably the wildest 3–0 game ever.

The game was a sloppy affair most of the way, with the ugly play only picking up in the final minutes.

The Eagles first looked poised to tie or take the lead late, driving in Demon Deacons territory before Troy Flutie fumbled inside the 10-yard line. Wake Forest looked to have the game in hand with under a minute to go, but then Matt Colburn fumbled on third-and-three, giving Boston College the ball back on the 11-yard line.

The Eagles worked their way down to the one-yard line, where they opted try for a touchdown with no timeouts and less than 30 seconds to go. But Tyler Rouse was stuffed for no gain, and then Boston College could not spike the ball in time to stop the clock and kick a field goal, giving Wake Forest the win.
