Missouri freshman defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. is out for the season with a torn ACL and MCL, Mizzou athletics announced in a statement Friday.

Beckner also has damage to his meniscus and a bone bruise. He will undergo surgery on his right knee in the next two to three weeks. He is expected to be fully recovered by the start of fall training camp in August.

Beckner sustained the injuries during the team’s 20–16 win over BYU last Saturday.

When Beckner signed with the Tigers he was was ranked as the No. 36 recruit in the country and the No. 5 at his position by Rivals. ESPN ranked him as the No. 2 recruit overall.

Beckner has eight tackles for loss and three sacks this season. He has also recorded 27 tackles and one fumble recovery.

The Tigers (5–5) are set to take on the Tennessee Volunteers (6–4) on Saturday.
