The regular season is over, yet the Heisman Trophy race is anything but settled. The Heisman Trust revealed Monday that Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey are the finalists for this year’s award, and all three appear to have realistic chances to win.

Henry set the SEC record for rushing yards in a season while leading the Crimson Tide to the College Football Playoff. He gained over 200 yards on the ground four times in conference play, and his 23 rushing touchdowns are the most in the nation.

Watson propelled the Tigers to an undefeated record and the No. 1 seed in the playoff with 3,512 yards passing, 887 yards rushing and 41 total touchdowns. He is the only player this season with over 3,000 yards through the air and 700 on the ground.

McCaffrey broke the NCAA record for all-purpose yards in a season with 3,496, surpassing Barry Sanders. While it took him more games to do so, the Stanford sophomore actually required fewer touches than Sanders (387 to 394).

The official Heisman ballots are in, but now it’s time to cast your vote in our annual People’s Heisman poll. Just like the actual Heisman ballot, SI.com’s People Heisman ballot awards three points for a first-place vote, two points for a second-place vot and one point for a third-place vote. Make your picks by 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday and be sure to check back on Friday to see which player earned America’s support.
