Robert Nkemdiche refutes report he used synthetic drugs before hotel fall
Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche issued a statement Tuesday addressing his fall at a hotel over the weekend and subsequent arrest on drug possession charges.
Nkemdiche was hospitalized after falling about 15 feet at a hotel on Saturday night. Police searched his room after the fall and discovered seven rolled marijuana cigarettes. He was charged Monday with marijuana possession.
Clay Travis of Fox Sports reported later Monday that Nkemdiche had been using synthetic marijuana before the fall. In his statement Nkemdiche denied the report.
Nkemdiche, a junior, has recorded 29 tackles and three sacks this season. In his NFL mock draft, SI.com’s Chris Burke projected the 6'4", 296-pound tackle as the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft.
