Texas Tech has suspended wide receiver Devin Lauderdale indefinitely, head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced Thursday.

The school did not elaborate on the specific cause of the suspension, saying simply that it is "due to a failure to uphold Texas Tech Athletic Department Student-Athlete Expectations."

The junior is the second-leading receiver for the Red Raiders this season, hauling in 43 receptions for 639 yards and four touchdowns. Lauderdale tied for second on the team in receiving touchdowns in 2014 with seven.

Lauderdale eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice this season, tallying 150 yards against Sam Houston State in Week 1 and 110 yards against TCU in Week 4.

Texas Tech (7–5) takes on LSU (8-3) in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 29.
