In a close game, Michigan State fans may have looked back on this play as one costing them their season.

Alabama’s Calvin Ridley made a slightly controversial touchdown catch during Thursday’s Cotton Bowl, securing the ball near the boundary of the end zone in the third quarter. The catch was initially ruled incomplete, but after a second look the referees ruled it a score.

The touchdown gave the Crimson Tide a 17–0 lead at the time.
