Notre Dame RB C.J. Prosise declares for NFL draft
Saturday January 2nd, 2016

Notre Dame redshirt junior running back C.J. Prosise will forgo his fifth year of eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL draft, he announced on Instagram.

“After a lot of thought and reflection I have decided to forego my remaining eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft,” Prosise wrote in his Instagram caption. “Thank you to Notre Dame, the coaches, staff, faculty and fans. I couldn't have asked for a better university to play for, it's been an honor to have played with Team 127 and I'm glad to have had the opportunity. I look forward to what lies ahead. Thank you, Go Irish!!!”

Prosise, who converted from wide receiver to running back prior to the season, rushed for 1,302 yards and 11 touchdowns after replacing injured starter Tarean Folston to begin the season. He also added 26 catches for 308 yards and a score out of the backfield.

The senior dealt with injuries over the final month of the season; he missed a game in early November due to a concussion, and sat out the team’s season finale against Stanford with an ankle injury. He was active for the Irish’s Fiesta Bowl loss to Ohio State, but saw just one target on offense and did not receive any carries.
