Latest recruiting news and notes around the Pac-12: OL Jackson set for USC official visit
- The latest recruiting news from around the Pac-12, including offensive lineman Austin Jackson's official visit to USC.
USC may be gearing up for a major recruiting weekend, but the rest of the Pac-12 looms near. Who could the Ducks or Huskies lure away? And which underclassman quarterback has the attention of multiple conferences?
Prospect of the week
Walnut Creek (Calif.) Berean Christian receiver Isaiah Hodgins had as perfect a Friday night could be. He caught three touchdown passes in Berean Christian's quarterfinal playoff win then followed it up with his college commitment. The four-star chose Oregon State over a final group that include Nebraska, Washington State and Oregon, a huge pickup for the Beavers, making him the highest rated verbal in this class.
Visit of the week
USC has a big weekend of visitors and Phoenix (Ariz.) North Canyon five-star offensive lineman Austin Jackson is the headliner. Jackson has already visited Oregon and Washington and will visit Arizona State as well. Jackson is one of the most athletic tackles in the country and has tremendous upside. His grandfather played for USC and the Trojans and Sun Devils are the two schools we've always felt had the best shot here.
Prospect on the rise
Oakley (Calif.) Freedom running back Ronnie Rivers has had a huge season for Freedom, putting them in the CIF-NCS Open Division finals against Concord (Calif.) De La Salle. He was the RB MVP at The Opening Oakland, beating out defending MVP and No. 1 prospect Najee Harris that day and that first put him on the map. But his senior year has been big and Fresno State, where his father played, offered him this week and more Pac-12 schools are taking a look at him.
Underclassman of the week
Corona (Calif.) Centennial 2018 quarterback Tanner McKee has the Huskies in the CIF-SS D-I semifinals and in a position to play for their third straight CIF-SS D-I title. In their quarterfinal win over West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade, McKee was 23-for-28 for 373 yards and threw five touchdown passes while rushing for a touchdown. Nebraska offered him over the weekend on his unofficial visit and he's got Pac-12 offers from Colorado and Utah too as well as offers from Hawaii and BYU.
Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) cornerback Thomas Graham took his final official visit to Oregon two weeks ago. He previously visited Arizona, Arizona State, Nebraska and Notre Dame. UCLA remains in the mix as well and Graham's recruitment will be interesting to watch with a decision looming in the next couple weeks. Arizona has been a longtime leader in our eyes but the gap closed significantly in the last few weeks.
